Why We Started

After that screen-shattering moment, we started researching car phone mounts properly. What we found surprised us: the whole category was dominated by products with 4–8 weak magnets, flimsy clips, and one-star reviews about dropped phones. The "premium" options were mostly charging docks that traded hold strength for wireless charging speed.

We wanted something different: a mount that held like it was welded to the car, was compatible with both MagSafe iPhones and Android phones, offered multiple mounting positions, and didn't require you to take a second mortgage to afford.

So we built it. 18 months of prototyping, three different magnet suppliers, and one very battered test car later — Iron Grip Pro was born.

The Technology

The key is the magnets. We use 20 N52 neodymium magnets — N52 is the highest commercially-available grade. Most competitor mounts use N35 or N38 magnets. The difference in hold strength isn't 10% — it's roughly 3x. Combined with our precision-aligned magnet array that matches Apple's MagSafe layout exactly, Iron Grip Pro creates a connection that simply doesn't let go.

The 3M VHB adhesive on the dashboard pad is the same grade used in automotive manufacturing. It bonds to the molecular structure of the surface rather than just sticking to it. Properly installed, it doesn't come off until you want it to.
